ผมเป็นคนที่ชอบทานก๋วยเตี๋ยว ทำก๋วยเตี๋ยวเองก็เป็น ไม่ว่าจะเนื้อหรือหมู ทำได้หมด และถ้าให้ปรุงก๋วยเตี๋ยวไม่ว่าจะยำต้มยำเองหรือปรุงอย่างอื่น ถ้าน้ำซุปไม่ได้แย่จนเกินไป ผมทำให้อร่อยได้หมด เพราะฉะนั้นการหาก๋วยเตี๋ยวอร่อยๆทานก็เรียกได้ว่าเป็นจุดมุ่งหมายหนึ่งของผมในเรื่องการกิน
ก๋วยเตี๋ยวร้านทั่วๆไป ถ้าไม่มีสูตรหมูกรอบพิเศษ น้ำซุปสูตรต้นตำหรับ หรือจุดเด่นอะไรอื่นๆ ผมว่ามันก็เหมือนกันหมดสำหรับผม เพราะฉะนั้นร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวที่ดีสำหรับผมต้องมีจุดเด่นที่น่าดึงดูด อย่างก๋วยเตี๋ยวหมูแดง ผมว่าเป็นอาหารชนิดหนึ่งในเมืองไทยที่รสชาติไม่ได้หนีกันมาก
สำหรับผม ผมถือว่าร้านนี้เป็นร้านบะหมี่หมูแดงที่เด่นร้านหนึ่งครับ
ถามว่าทำไม?
เริ่มจากปริมาณครับ ที่ให้แบบว่าคนทั่วๆไปคงไม่ต้องสั่งชามที่สองมาทาน และคงหาได้น้อยคนที่จะสามารถทานชามที่สองได้หมด ส่วนราคาก็ไม่ต้องห่วงครับ สามารถอิ่มได้ในราคาแค่ 25 บาท ซึ่งผมมองว่าร้านนี้ฉลาดในการตั้งราคาครับ คือราคาเริ่มต้นไม่แพง น้ำแข็งเปล่าก็ฟรี เติมเองได้เลย ซึ่งทำให้ลูกค้าเกิดความประทับใจเบื้องต้นว่าราคาถูก จากนั้นถ้าจะเพิ่มเกี๊ยวก็เพิ่มอีก 10 บาท ส่วนหมูกรอบก็เพิ่มขึ้นอีก 10 บาท ถ้าต้องการซุปก็เพิ่ม 5 บาท ซึ่งรวมๆแล้วถ้าจะทานแบบครบสูตร ก็อาจจะไม่ได้ถูกนัก แต่เมื่อเทียบกับความประทับใจแรกในเรื่องของราคา กับสิ่งที่ได้มา คือ เกี๊ยวก็ตัวใหญ่ไส้เต็มๆ น้ำซุปก็มีเนื้อติดกระดูกต้มเปื่อยมาให้ ก็ถือว่าคุ้มราคาครับ
ถึงแม้โดยรวมรสชาติจะไม่ได้หนีจากมาตราฐานไปมากนัก โดยรวมผมถือว่าเป็นร้านที่ผมถือว่าเป็นร้านที่ควรค่าแก่การมาอุดหนุนครับ (ผมก้ำกึ่งระหว่างให้ 4 หรือ 5 ดาว แต่โดยรวมผมให้ปัดขึ้นครับ)
This place is a hidden gem. First off, noodles are ones of my favorite dishes. I like to eat them, I can cook them myself and I am kinda good at it too. I can go any noodle restaurant and season them myself to make them taste good. So, seeking a good noodle place is like a mission to me. Unless it has something special or they have their own recipe, it'd be just a plain bowl of noodles to me (not really a bad thing though).
Now, let's talk about "egg noodles with red roasted pork", which is like a noodle specialty in Thailand. In general, I think they all don't taste any much difference. This place I'm reviewing offers the same kind of dish. So, what makes this place special in my opinion?
It begins with the amount they serve. You don't need to worry that it won't be enough (like many other places). Believe me, it will. In fact, it'll be more than enough for many of you. For how much? Just 25 Baht.
I think the owner is very smart by setting the starting price very low. Water is also free, which is uncommon in Thailand nowadays. This gives a first impression that they offer at a very low price. Then, it all adds up when you want extras or toppings. If you want dumplings, add 10 Baht. Crispy porks? Another 10 Baht. Soup? 5 Baht. So, if you want a complete bowl, it can be a little expensive. But when you have an impression that it's cheap and the extras are quite worth it, you will still feel it's not that expensive.
Although you won't find the taste any much difference from any other places, it's well worth it to try it out. I'm sure I'll be one of those who visit quite often when I'm in the area. (I'm a little torn between giving it a 4-star or a 5-star, but I raise it up to 5 due to the bang-for-the-buck quality.)
