We had Lunch
Rock the Raft Oh Yeahhttps://youtu.be/qxIoaeNENbo
As we had our lunch, the crowd there started to dissipate. It seems this place is popular in the morning. Visitors go for their rafting and return in time for lunch. Our meal was simple and decent in taste. We were glad they have a restaurant here instead of us having to find somewhere else to eat. There is a toilet behind the gift shop where people were changing into dry clothes. And within the gift shop, they do sell attire suitable for rafting it out and getting wet. People who were elaborately dressed to kill will find this a saver. The rafting drop point is a drive away. They charge by per raft and transportation is included in the fee. We embarked the “tow-rows” with a young couple as soon as we were done with our light meal. Everything was at our own paced and no one was rushed. Easy easy.
And onto the unstable exciting bamboo raft. As soon as we were seated on board, my butt got wet. The operator steered the raft over into the running water with a broad push of his bamboo oar. We slowly picked up speed and were on our way. I was very amazed at how clear the stream was. We happened to be here on the right day. The operator told us the water does churn red on bad days. August seems to be the right month to be here. It was two days after a day that rained non-stop, water was abundance but fortunately not till the point of stirring the stream murky. We rafted over gentle white waters, occasionally knocking into rocks as the operator fought hard. There was a spot where we could stop for a swim. We did not as we did not bring a change of clothes. It would have been enjoyable dipping in the cool water as the sun was strong that afternoon. The entire stream is well kept and clean, the foliage refreshingly green. The ride was over in about a good half hour. We had fun.
