Top service, impressive presentation BUT Ordinary taste, average qualityYou need a lot of patience to reserve this place. Slow response, poor service mind. Seems like the lady doesn't know what she's doing and she also doesn't care/ bad attitude. From what I heard, foreigners tend to get the table easier than locals.
The place is very nice, feel like you step in someone mansion. The servers are well-trained, very friendly.
Received Emoji menu without description, you only know the ingredient after the last courses.
Presentation was very outstanding. A lot of molecular things going on, sphere, liquid nitrogen, foam, all of techniques. (remind me of wd50 in NY).
However, when it come to the taste, I was disappointed.
Every bites pack with full favors but it wasn’t good favors. Many dishes were very salty.
And most of dishes looked like Japanese-wanna be. Quality doesn’t meet the standard.
Tomyum cracker was salty (รสชาติเหมือนฉีกซองเครื่องปรุงมาม่า กรอกปาก)
Eggplant cookie, the cookie was bland and powdery while the onion chutney was salty
Chili bon bon was too sweet and no taste of chili
The goat brain was actually tasty
Idly sambar was horrible.
Chicken liver was a bit gaminess.
Kabab burger and akami (tuna) taco was ok, average.
Foie gras yuzu and Fish cake was really odd and left a funny taste in my mouth.
Chutoro quality was below average.
Pork vindaloo also wasn’t good. Japanese katsu curry is way better.
Scallops and uni was ok, again average.
Quail wasn’t tasty although they claimed that it was imported from France.
Paturi was bad. Steam wasabi never a good idea.
Asparagus was mushy, too soft, weird and too much cream. Tradition hollandaise sauce would be better.
Desserts were all average.
25 courses, 5,000 Baht per person, 2.5 – 3 hours dinning times.
I got really excited for the first 5 – 7 courses then I started to lose my interested. The table next to me asked for desserts after their 8th dishes..
I wish they had focused on the quality, rather than quantity.
I will go back to this place though, once they change to the new menu.
