Fresh seafood, great red meat, light soupiImperial Treasure Steamboat (Hotpot) is a great place for seafood, pork and beef lovers!
The most interesting part of the meal is to mix the sauce to your liking, it ranges from peanut sauce, satay sauce, spring onions, fresh chilli, szhechuan style chilli to soy sauce, garlic and cilantro.
The place offers a wide variety of soup based on your preference. We had the chicken soup and szechuan (ma'la) soup. The chicken soup is a light flavour type, while the szechuan spicy soup isnt very spicy, good for those who can take a bit of spice. Though the soup is good, when they refill the soup, it should be the soup that we ordered, not slight soup base/water that diluted the soup.
We were first served with spring rolls and deep fried bean curd (tofu skin). Dip the fried bean curd into boiling soup for a few mins to soften and absorb the soup flavour and its perfect.
The seafood here is very very very fresh; the king tiger prawns is HUGE, and the garoupa fish meat was sliced to perfection and the bones made the soup tasty. The sea clams gives of a slight cripsy and soft texture when you first bite into it and the sweetness of the clams gives off a pleasant feel to your palate.
Its a surprise to boil siu mai in soup and it was amazinly good. While conventional dimsum is steamed, when the siu mai is boiled in soup, the skin softens and the soup is absorbed into the meat.
The cuttlefish and spinach noodle tasted more like a meat between chicken and pork, would be tastier if they had marinated it well.
Bamboo Pith stuffed with shrimp is another winner menu. Im a fan of bamboo pith anyway and the shrimp is very sweet. So when eaten together it offers the best combo of bamboo pith texture and shrimp sweetness oozing out of each hole of the bamboo pith.
The dried and frozen beancurd served is just alright if eaten by itself, its best to dip it in the sauce to add flavour to it.
The red meat includes USA short rib beef, Australian beef brisket, Kurobuta pork belly. All are high quality imported meats!
