Small Cozy Room, Good for Business TravelerMarriott this Covid season has been running some heavy promotions to sustain. These attractive packages lure in huge local crowds on weekends. Normally, many would not like to stay in the city as a staycation. But many, have been falling for the great deals. Being a city hotel, the Deluxe Room is small for families with kid. It was too small for my liking, there was no space for me to get a breather away from my energetic kid. I guess many city hotels are just made for the business traveler. If I was alone, the room will have been perfect and cozy. My only complain was the lack of a proper working desk. A round table and a small sofa smacked at the corner is where emails are to be done. To get some me time, I headed for where the pool is. The pool is of a substantial size, just not Olympic size. There were some tables and chairs just outside of the doorway, and there was where I soaked up some peace time. But the mosquitoes came, and those moments were cut short. Outdoor areas are pretty scarce in this city hotel. The other place where I can chill outdoor for some fresh breaths of air was on the sitting area out the ground floor café. It was traffic air however, and again, the mozzies came to suck me dry. The next morning, one will never be disappointed by a Marriot breakfast. It was extravagant and always have been in all my Marriott stays, both local and oversea. Covid preventive measures were in full force. Staffs were station at most counters, and they picked the food for us. But for the impatient some, they were going at it by themselves. The home feature of the buffet spread was local coconut, and omelet with Thai curry crab sauce. Breakfast was going at a fantastic rate of only THB 350 per pax. Those without breakfast in their stay package, like me, took it on without hesitation. The same price goes for outside guest who simply wants a hearty breakfast. And that was a short staycation we had, in one day and out the next.
